C and B Garden Plot Rules and Regulations / Rental Agreement
Plot registration begins April 1st and runs until June 1st each year. There is no limit to how many plots that one can rent while plots are available. Previously rented plots and plot location can be held for the next growing season if renter is in good standing and lots paid in full by June 1st of that growing season. After June 1st it will be on a first come first served basis. If a contract had been signed for a garden plot(s) C and B Gardens, and you are a returning gardener and you have paid for a garden plot(s) a new contract is not required. Paying for a plot(s) shows the gardener has and will adhear to all Rules and Regulations of the previously sisned contract. All lot sizes are 20’x 20’(400sq/ft). Your tools and related gardening equipment left at a garden plot site is allowed but are left at your own risk. Stakes, bags and debris must not be left outside the plots as it is a danger to other gardeners and mowing equipment. Please remove all standing water to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. Pesticide uses meant for vegetable, fruit or flower crops are allowed as long as these items have a short life span with no residual effect on the ground. At all times these items will not effect your neighboring gardener. All spraying will be done in morning or evening when the wind conditions are 10km/hr or less, and you the gardener will follow all manufacturer's recommendations and safety guidelines. We will try to separate the gardeners into different rows to help reduce the effect for those who wish to use Organic Gardening practices. Pesticide may be mixed on site but not stored; any unused product can not be disposed of in, on or around the C and B Garden Plots property, the best practice would be to mix in small portions. Herbicides / Fungicide are NOT ALLOWED. Do not use in the gardens! If you are found to be using Herbicides / Fungicide or misusing pesticides you will be unable to continue gardening and will be required to leave the Gardens and not return without refund or compensation of your crops. One methods to control weeds is to dig them out, then cover areas with mulch, newspaper or landscape cloth. Please note the following: The growing of Potatoes of any kind is strictly prohibited, this due to the fact that insect control by many different Gardeners is next to impossible. I agree that I will not bring weapons, pets or other animals into the garden area. I will accompany any guests and visitors I bring to the garden and will be responsible of their conduct in the gardens. I will supervise my children while in the garden. The garden is open from dawn till dusk every day. Please keep gates closed. Please park in designated areas. Crops must be harvested once they are mature. Ask about donating surpluses. Bug lures are not allowed. No Wood Chips or Bark allowed in gardens. Regulations pertaining to water will change as infrastructure is improved. For the time being water will be stored in barrels in the common areas as C and B Garden Plots finds necessary to fill the needs. C and B Garden Plots may at times rout hoses along the borders of garden so water can reach water storage barrels. Notify C and B Garden Plots if you should wish anyone to enter your garden in your absence. Do not water another gardener's plot unless he or she asks you to do so. No produce or plantings may be taken from another gardeners plot. If you or your guest are involved in any vandalism or theft it will mean immediate dismissal without refund or compensation of your crops. During fall clean-up, any lumber, fencing, plastic materials, tomato cages, watering cans, etc. must be removed from gardening sites. All plants and weeds must be completely removed. A complete clean-up is a condition for receiving an invitation for renewal of a gardening contract for the following season. C and B Garden Plots will assist when possible in the moving of compostable material to a designated area, but this is not a requirement in any way shape or form of C and B Garden Plots or does it relieve the tenant of the plot of any responsibility. In the event of any disputes that arise between Gardeners that cannot be resolved, C and B Garden Plots can and will make the decision final and binding. As a respectful gardener, I will keep all my plants within the garden plot limits and will keep my plot(s) well tended (bugs & weeds etc.). I will dispose of plant material, rocks and extraneous materials in designated areas, If any tools or equipment of C and B Garden Plots is borrowed (not a requirement of C and B Garden Plots) they will be returned by the borrower each and every day. I will observe prohibitions against growing potatoes, illegal plants, smoking, drinking, gambling, or using illegal drugs on the C and B Garden Plot Property. No Pesticides to be stored on the C and B Garden Plots Property.
